Welcome to the grand age of Rome, start your family dynasty and build your way up through the Roman hierarchy to become one of the most important people in the Roman Empire! On the box this game offers you the opportunity to produce mass armies for your empire to grow and become great but unfortunately, I found it was just your average city builder providing a decent workforce and resources for your people.
Although you are the governor of a great empire with the ability to ultimately play god, in the beginning stages you learn the basics of how to maintain your cities. Insulas become your main source of labour and without this things like bakeries, butchers, farms and any buildings that require people to work in them won’t function, especially if they are not placed in the radius of the buildings that you need to work in. You have to provide everything from water to hygiene for your people and wisely using what resources you have available to you. Not really hard to get to grips with in the slightest. Everything you need to know is in the tutorial stages it’s just hard not to go on a building frenzy when all the other building opportunities arise in your menu. Schools play a very important part in the research of your culture. For things like warfare, farming and religion these all provide for your people and add to the culture of your empire.
