Ahoy Mateys! You could sail the seven seas in search of a good game to fill all of your piratey pirates of black cove me mateys!needs and you couldn’t find a game that could better accomplish that task than Pirates of Black Cove. This game has everything it takes to make an awesome game. From cannon battles at sea to swashbuckling adventures on land, Nitro Games and Paradox Interactive have delivered a superb game that will provide you with hours of excitement, fun, and laughs.

It is hard to classify Pirates of Black Cove (PoBC for short), into any specific genre because there are so many different gaming elements. One moment you will be sailing the Caribbean searching for sunken ships. Then you can land at different ports and pillage and plunder the villages. There’s booty to be found and prisoners to take. And while Nitro games could have split the land and sea portions of the game and made 2 great games by their own merit, they combined the 2 game types into one fantastic game. Personally, I feel this is a great move on their part because the gameplay never gets old or stale since you are always switching from one game type to the next. So the only way to give PoBC a proper review is to break it into 2 sections: Land and Sea.

Pirates of Black Cove, One if By Sea

The map of playable area in PoBC is immense. You get to sail the entire Caribbean Sea. If you were to start at one side of the map and sail to the other it would take you about 5 or 6 minutes in one of the faster ships. Being a geography buff, I loved seeing the very accurate depiction of the islands in this part of the world. While they are scaled down quite a bit, the shape and layout of the islands is spot on.
