Arvoch Alliance Review (Windows PC)

Arvoch Alliance is an interesting game. Excluding the name, which in itself is strange, Starwraith 3D Games claims that Arvoch Alliance is the “definitive first person 3D space Arvoch Alliancecombat simulation.” Now that’s a mouthful. But is it really? The short answer is yes but....

Feature-wise, Arvoch Alliance is pretty standard. It has a decent amount of ships, not mind boggling, but it is decent. The ships all feel slightly, ever so slightly, different, to a point that you’ll mainly tell the difference based on how fast and easily you’re dying with certain ships and how fast your ship is going in general. And yes, Arvoch Alliance, at first, is a difficult game. But its difficulty comes in the same flavor as Dark Souls. It’s not difficult because it’s difficult; it’s difficult because we’ve become too used to hand holding, and that’s something Arvoch Alliance rarely, if ever, does.

The most important thing about Arvoch is that it is not a casual-friendly game. Arvoch is a game meant for enthusiasts and for those willing to enter a complex game willing to learn and, eventually, possibly even instantly, have fun. That’s what makes Arvoch such a strange game from today’s popular titles. Arvoch doesn’t use graphics and a vast marketing budget to get you to buy it. It gives you a good demo and tries to fill in a void that most gamers don’t realize is lacking. On a side note: it’s also made almost entirely by one man. Although that doesn’t make its flaws easier to accept, but does give you an appreciation for the work put into the game.

Holy interface!

Our Rating for Arvoch Alliance Review (Windows PC)
9.0 Replay
If you can get past the dull presentation, the mission-based structure is perfect for short bursts, and there’s even a random mission generator to keep you busy for a long time.
5.0 Graphics
Nowhere near the best but not awful either. The mediocre graphics may be a put-off for most people or at the very least a distraction.
6.0 Sound
It’s your typical sci-fi soundtrack that becomes easily drowned out after several seconds of playing.
9.0 Gameplay
Is it a simulation? I’m not entirely sure, but it is fun and complex. The only issue comes with from bad controller sensitivity experienced with multiple controllers.
0.0 Multiplayer/Online Content
Has online functions, but unfortunately, there were no servers in which to play. It might be a sign of Arvoch Alliance’s very niche status.
8.0 Overall
A great game held back by some mediocrities. Might be hard for most gamers, but for those looking for something fresh and engaging should give Arvoch Alliance a try.
