Assassin’s Creed II DLC Jan/Feb 2010

Assassin’s Creed II is out, and starting next month so will be its DLC. Two packs are headed down the console network pipes to be delivered in January and February. At least it’s not  a mere two days after the game’s release like another company we won’t name (S.E.).

There’s no useful information on the DLC packs and really even announcing it at this point seems, well, pointless. But announce it they have and so we must cover it. Perhaps they haven’t actually made it yet and are just looking to gauge your interest. They could have simply asked, right? All we have is the names and that the first will be available in January with the second following in February.

  • DLC 1 - Battle of Forli
  • DLC 2- Bonfire of the Vanities

I suspect that you can gather some further information from those titles. For example:

On May 15, 1282 Battle of Forlì between Guelphs and Ghibellines: the French army under Pope Martin IV is defeated by Guido I da Montefeltro. (Source: Wikipedia.org)

The Bonfire of the Vanities is the burning of objects that are deemed to be occasions of sin. The most famous one took place on 7 February 1497, when supporters of the Dominican priest Girolamo Savonarola collected and publicly burned thousands of objects like cosmetics, art, and books in Florence, Italy, on the Shrove Tuesday festival. (Also Wikipedia.org).

Odd that they might choose those two events as they are over two hundred years apart.
