UK Govt to Invest Millions in Video Game University Program

Today the Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association (ELSPA) welcomed the announcement by the UK Government that it will be investing £3.5 million, through its Strategic Investment Fund, into new facilities at the University of Abertay, Dundee and Media City UK to support the UK videogames industry.

“This is fantastic news for the UK videogames industry and I would like to commend the government for this initiative. This investment will help support a cross section of the videogames industry in the UK,” said Mike Rawlinson, Director General of ELSPA.  “The UK videogames industry is one of the country’s most dynamic and creative industries and a leading player in the videogames industry globally. I am sure that this investment will stimulate further innovation and skills training in the UK and help the industry maintain its current momentum.”
