Open Network Entertainment, Inc (ONE) today announced the launch of the ONE SafeCard, an age-specific prepaid card for online games, worlds and social networks. With a focus on gamers 13 and under, the card is launching with the popular online community site Fantage.

Fantage, short for “Fantastic Age,” is a next-generation community site for young computer users, with games and adventures that spark children’s unlimited curiosity while keeping them connected and interacting with their peers in an extremely safe social network. The Fantage world goes far beyond the typical “player versus computer” concept to combine social interaction with a broad range of creative elements, achieving a truly unique social play experience, all while maintaining strict compliance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

ONE’s SafeCard brand of prepaid game cards provides an age-appropriate rating that is similar to the ESRB rating system used for console games. This rating is intended to give parents extra assurance that this prepaid game card is not only safe, but age appropriate for younger users. For parents, the ONE SafeCard includes an activity monitoring option that alerts parents via email when their child has made a purchase. Additionally, there are no subscriptions or hidden fees, which make for an easy-to-understand and transparent purchasing experience. The ONE Power-Up Game Card and ONE SafeCard branded cards are available at Rite Aid, Fred’s Hometown Discount Stores and F.Y.E. locations nationwide.
