Sony Offers New Gaming Headsets with Virtrual Phones Technology

The new DR-GA500 utilizes the unique Sony Virtual Phones (VPT) technology and Dolby Pro Logic IIx decoding to create virtual 7.1 channel surround sound, resulting in an ideal audio environment for first person shooter (FPS) and role playing (RPG) gaming. The signal processing hardware of this flagship model is contained in a small external unit.

Both the DR-GA500 and DR-GA200 headsets feature a “triple enfolding” design which uses ventilation to reduce pressure on the ears, allowing for long game play sessions without discomfort.  Each model also features 40 mm driver units for premium gaming sound quality and a high-quality, compact boom microphone.

These premium gaming headsets are compatible with all Sony VAIO models including the new F Series Laptop, built for PC gamers and multimedia enthusiasts.

I don’t understand why they wouldn’t make a high quality set for their own platform as well.

Sony’s DR-GA500 and DR-GA200 Ultimate Weapon PC Gaming headsets will be available this month for about $200 and $80, respectively, at www.sonystyle.com, Sony Style retail stores and other authorized retailers nationwide.
