Update: SCEE has confirmed that Motorstorm Apocalypse is indeed going to be delayed in Europe. Most likely it will be pushed back to release most likely in April, as in the US, at the very least.

Several games and DLC packages have been delayed or canceled due to the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Map of Japan

Motorstorm Apocalypse, which arrived today at the GDN office, was supposed to be released this Friday in Europe but may be delayed. It has been moved to an unspecified release date in Japan already. Given the content of the game it makes sense.

Yakuza: Of the End, where a zombie outbreak hits Japan, has also been delayed by SEGA who did not comment specifically on why the game would not be released on the 17th like planned.

Capcom vs. Marvel 3 was supposed to get two new characters in a new DLC add-on as well. It seems that fans of Shuma and Jill will have to wait in Japan. No word on if this affects the other markets.

Irem canceled their earthquake-centric title, Disaster Report 4 as well.

Other companies like Square Enix are helping out by shutting down servers for Final Fantasy XIV and Final Fantasy XI, along with its PlayOnline service, citing power saving measures in the country.

Microsoft canned plans for a Kinect Experience Caravan Car Event tour of Japan and the Dragon Age Awakening expansion was also delayed in the country on the Xbox 360.

Gamers Daily News wishes their friends and colleagues in the affected areas as well as all people adversely affected by the recent disaster our deepest condolences and hope that what little we are doing to help does relieve some of their suffering.
