L.A. Noire Overheating your PS3? Nay, Say Rockstar and Sony

No Comment 32 Views

Here’s an interesting situation. Some gamers have reported overheating of consoles and shutdowns while playing L.A. Noire on their Playstation 3 console. Sony and Rockstar have put out a statement basically saying "nuh uh!"L.A. Noire not overheating PS3s... or is it?

We have received a very small number of customer support questions about PS3s overheating or shutting down while playing L.A. Noire. At this time, Rockstar Games and Sony can confirm that neither L.A. Noire or firmware update 3.61 are causing the PS3 hardware to overheat. We are both committed to working hard to find solutions to this and any issues that may arise. If you are experiencing any issues with L.A. Noire or your PS3 hardware, please contact technical support using any of the means provided below:

I find it odd that they say "no way!" but then say, "If you’ve got problems contact us." It’s like they aren’t quite sure whether or not they want to support it as a problem with the game and hardware or not. Perhaps they think it’s you modders out there who have done something special to your machines. The GDN review is coming via the Xbox 360 and we haven’t heard any problems on that platform.

Have you experienced problems with the game on your PS3?
