Delve Deeper Update Released

New Features:

  • Auto-tile drop mode: Sheer, unadulterated awesomeness, the new default option on the tile placement phase of a turn makes play much more elegant.
  • Valid placement highlights: When you select a tile for placement, or enter auto-tile placement, all hexes with valid tile placements are now highlighted in green, invalid placements in red.
  • The Royal Gallery now displays separate sections for add-on relic files.


  • Fixed an issue that caused a crash when clicking "Deep" when it was grayed out.
  • Fixed an issue that made the "Deep" button unclickable when using manual depth selection.
  • The last player no longer occasionally mines twice at the end of their turn.
  • Achievement fixes for Rune Mastery, Slime’s Sappin’, and Fae Friend.
  • Fixed menu navigation bugs with the gamepad.
  • Fixed a crash on the main menu caused by multiple entrances and exits from the new game screen.
  • Fairy (Pink) Dragons now drop loot.
  • Kingly level messages added for our first DLC!
  • Fixed a bug that caused AI dwarves to occasionally walk through occupied hexes.
  • Resolved a button mashing related crash.

Updates to Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike: Source, Day of Defeat: Source and Half-Life 2: Deathmatch have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:

Source Engine Changes (CS:S, DoD:S, TF2, HL2:DM)

  • Updated the shared interfaces for the TF2 Free To Play update
  • Updated the shared localization files

Team Fortress 2

  • TF2 is now Free To Play
  • Added the Uber Update:
  • Added PL_Barnblitz, a new Payload map
  • Added all kinds of new goodies!
  • The Main menu now has a "Start Playing" option which presents users with various game modes to choose from. Once selected, the game matches the player into the best available server for that mode.
  • The Crafting interface has been redesigned to accommodate the fact that crafting blueprints are always known to players now.
  • The Item selection screen in Loadouts has been redesigned to support selection among a larger number of items.
  • Training improvements:
    • New training user interface
    • Added "A,W,S,D" movement instruction to Soldier training
    • Added ammo instruction to Engineer training
    • Clarified many instructional strings
  • Added new voting sounds
  • Fixed various Coaching bugs

Call of Duty: Black Ops Update Released

Updates to Call of Duty: Black Ops have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:

Call of Duty: Black Ops

  • Free For All matches in the Recent Games menu in Theater now appear as “Free for All” instead of being displayed as “Team Deathmatch”
  • Addressed several items that did not correctly reset to their default state when using the Default System Settings option
  • In the Combat Training Change map menu the player can toggle between the default and DLC maps using the arrow keys on the keyboard
  • When the UAV is active the radar sweep movement is shown on kill streak menus that bring up a map for the player
  • Added option to disable player emblems in the “Settings”, ”Multiplayer options” menu
  • Addressed crash when a player accepted a game invite while rendering a clip
  • Addressed various exploits
  • Allow modded servers to enable cheats
  • Added ability for mods to remove dvar/commands from restricted lists. So mods can remove dvars they don’t want user to have access to. Also increased the mods restricted list to 256

Team Fortress 2 is now Free to Play

June 23, 2011—Valve, creators of bestselling game franchises (such as Half-Life, Portal, Left 4 Dead, and Counter-Strike) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), announced today that after four years and over 200 updates, its popular and critically-acclaimed online action game Team Fortress 2 (TF2) is now Free To Play (F2P).
The F2P announcement comes as part of the "Über Update". Released today, it is the largest content pack delivered to TF2 since it shipped in 2007.

New players interested in experiencing what PC Gamer calls "the most fun you can have online" will have access to training and offline practice modes, so they can hone their skills before jumping into the ever-expanding TF2 universe.
To celebrate the launch of the Über Update, Valve has released "Meet the Medic," the latest in its series of TF2 animated shorts.
