Konami has announced that Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior, Santos’ main striker player, is joining Cristiano Ronaldo as featured cover athlete for Pro Evolution Soccer 2012, set to release in America on September 27th. Both players embody the many advances the game offers this year. The cover will be an America-exclusive, being distributed on USA and Latin America territories, in order to better appeal to such a selected audience.
Neymar’s minutes were decisive for Santos in the Copa Santander Libertadores, in which the Brazilian team came out as the champion, in a stellar match against Peñarol (from Uruguay). Since Neymar is one of the most electric and well respected Brazilian soccer player at the age of 19, as well as an already known presence on Pro Evolution Soccer 2012, Konami has decided to put him on the cover of the franchise’s new iteration.
PES 2012 gives the user more control than any other football title, with all-new AI elements and off-the-ball control creating a game where the user can move players into dangerous areas during set pieces, or control second player to create space or make runs using the new Teammate Control system.
Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 is slated for release on September 27 in the United States for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC. Release dates for Wii, PlayStation 2 and PSP versions of Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 have yet to be announced.
