Airport Madness 1

An air traffic control game that involves runways and taxiways. You must strategically give takeoff and landing clearances to avoid midair collisions between commercial jets while moving them as fast as you can with no delays.

Air Traffic Controller

Posted: 17 Mar 2012 01:00 AM PDT

This is an addictive air traffic control game with highly realistic radar behavior. As an air traffic controller, your job is to sequence arrivals as tightly as possible while maintaining the requirements of air traffic control separation: 3 miles laterally, or 1000 feet vertically. Once you have 3 losses of separation, the game is over. Assign headings, speeds and altitudes as necessary to establish the aircraft onto the runway approach path. The game uses human pilot voices and a radar screen that is identical to that of the real thing.

As in real-life, there is a short-tempered supervisor who does not like mistakes! The game is definitely not as easy as it looks. Be sure to take the time to read through the air traffic control tutorial located inside the game. It is much like the real world of air traffic control with never quite enough airspace and always too many aircraft.

This is great simulation for aviation enthusiasts and aspiring air traffic controllers. Wage increases are given each time an aircraft lands safely. Larger increases go to those air traffic controllers who handle a large number of aircraft in a safe, orderly and expeditious manner. A good air traffic controller strives to land aircraft as tightly as possible while maintaining the required 3 miles of separation, with as few radio transmissions as possible.

Do you have what it takes to be an air traffic controller at a busy international airport? As an air traffic controller it is your job is to keep aircraft from colliding, while avoiding unnecessary delays. You are paid the big bucks for your visualization skills and guts. Just like the real job of an air traffic controller, you must pay attention and keep your eyes moving. There is always something that you could be doing! You must give takeoff clearances, landing clearances and taxi clearances in a strategic effort to maintain safety and efficiency where there would otherwise be total chaos. This is not a spectator’s sport! After successful completion of all 14 levels of this simulation you will become an expert at visualization and managing priorities. This simulation contains 7 different challenging airport layouts. You will be required to work at night, and occasionally in poor weather conditions. Knowledge of air traffic control is not required to be a top-notch air traffic controller in Airport Madness, but you do require nerves of steel. There are two airports to choose from, and you have the choice of playing a levels-based game, or a continuous-play game.

Read a review of Airport Madness 2 here.

The full version of Airport Madness 2 offers more airports, more levels, including a "continuous-play" option where you can select your airport, your air traffic level, and your time of day. Here is what else the full version offers:

  • Two airport layouts versus just one in the free version
  • 14 levels (7 for each airport layout)
  • Option for continuous-play with adjustable air traffic intensity
  • Absolutely no ads
  • Internet connection not required to play

Radar Simulation

Posted: 17 Mar 2012 01:00 AM PDT

This is a single-sector arrival and departure simulation.. It includes human pilot voices, combined-clearance options, handoffs, plus a very accurate airspeed/groundspeed model (?). A future version of this simulation will have multiple sectors and user preference settings, but also a significantly higher price tag. Please help support my projects by purchasing this simulation securely through the PayPal link below. I offer buyers unlimited email support, including a thorough instructions page, which is free to view with no purchase required.

This simulation has been created with real-world air traffic controllers in mind. However, if you read through the instructions carefully you should manage fine. Since it is not a game, you will not find any mention of such things as scores or levels. This is an accurate simulation of air traffic control from the perspective of an actual terminal control position. Although the airspace is ficticious, the concepts and procedures you will work with here are absolutely real.

Radar Chaos

Posted: 17 Mar 2012 01:00 AM PDT

Big Fat Simulations proudly presents "Radar Chaos", a fun realistic radar-based air traffic control game and simulation. Unlike the Airport Madness series, this game is all radar. Instead of controlling an airport’s runways and taxiways, you instead control the 400 square miles of airspace that surround the airport.

  • Ten Levels of Realistic Radar Action!
  • Emergencies and Bad Weather
  • Large 1000x725 Resolution
  • Designed for Beginners and Experts

It is ideal for those who are looking for something simple to learn, with virtually no instructions required. Sky Madness is an air traffic control game based on altitude management.
