Activision Blizzard, Inc. (NASDAQ:ATVI) have announced the date of their Q4 2012 earnings conference call and release. The information will be made publicly available on February 7, after the markets close.

Investors keeping an eye out for the game publisher's numbers breakdown can also join the conference call which will be held at 1:30 p.m. PST. The call will also be available on recorded file several hours later.

In other recent news, ATVI and Disney traded witty remarks about each other's game products. It seems Disney's in-production “Infinity” game borrows a toy-scanning mechanic where physical representations of characters are placed on a platform, scanned and brought to life in the game. ATVI used a very similar approach with their 'Skylanders' franchise. A marketing VP for Activision came out with a statement the company was “flattered” that a major name like Disney follows in their footsteps and that ATVI will “continue leading the (toys to life) category”.[banner]

Activision will also be one of the speakers of interest at the 2013 Game Dev Conference to be held this March in San Francisco. Mr. Jorge Jimenez who is with ATVI's real-time graphics R&D unit, will be presenting the company's outlook and advances in next-gen graphics, photorealistic characters in particular. The presentation is set to include portions on advanced eye shading, subsurface scattering and anti-aliasing.

Gamers are left hoping ATVI will put their next-gen graphics tech to better use than just an advanced Call of Duty: World at Modern Warfare Ops (Return to Carentan In Space) and produce some more involved titles along their admittedly successful and entertaining first-person shooter cash-cow.

Last Friday ATVI fluctuated within a 13-cent price frame, closing 0.5% percent down at $11.36 per share. ATVI has somewhat consolidated its price in January after closing 2012 under $11 per share.
