A new month means new free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers. As usual, the games will start being available for free on the first Tuesday of the month, September 2. Of course, there will be titles available for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita; two for each console.
Let's kick it off with what PlayStation 4 owners will get. First off, there is Velocity 2X by FuturLab. This is a sequel to Velocity Ultra. The game is a fast-paced 2D shooter, where gamers are in control of a spaceship and have to navigate and shoot their way through each level. 2X also offers the option to leave the ship. Then, the game turns into a platform-shooter. Velocity 2x offers cross-platform support, so you can also play it on PS Vita if you get it on PS4 first. The other game that will be available for PS4 is Die Gute Fabrik's Sportsfriends. This game supports 4-player multiplayer, and you have 4 mini-games that you can play.
PS Plus-subscribers on the PS3 will get PlayStation All-Start Battle Royale, which features characters from Sony-exclusive titles such as Sly Cooper, Nathan Drake, Kratos, etc. Things fighting game lets you and 3 other friends slug it off and see who comes out on top. This game also has a PS Vita version you can get. Hoard is the second game that will be free on PS3. This is an action-strategy game that looks to be somewhat inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit; more specifically, on the character Smaug. You will play as a dragon that tries to rack up as much gold as he can in order to win the game.
Lastly, let's check out what PS Plus has to offer for PS Vita. We start with Joe Danger – riding a motorcycle, your mission is to get to the finish line in a certain amount of time and manage to complete other objectives along the way. This cartoony game brings get fun for anyone playing it. The second game for PS Vita is TxK. This is a remake of the classic arcade shooter Tempest. This minimalistic title is not concerned with graphics. It all about players thinking quick on their feet and managing to react with what the game throws at them.
