Carolina Core 31, Chicago Chimera 17
In a rematch of one of the greatest rivalries of CGS thus far, 2007 World Final runner-up, Carolina Core got revenge on World Champion Chicago Chimera in a 31-17 victory. The match started off strong for Carolina as Ryan "Offbeat Ninja" Ward defeated the 2007 MVP, Jeremy "BlackMamba" Florence of Chimera 5-3 in Men’s DOA4. Carolina’s Kat "Mystik" Gunn added to Ward’s win with a dominating 5-1 victory over Chicago’s Marjorie "Kasumi Chan" Bartell in Women’s DOA4. Carolina’s victory was secured when the Core’s Counter-Strike: Source squad took down Chimera in an impressive 12-6 win.
