No Comment 20 Views

With the PS 2 having sold over 131.3 million consoles and software sales at $1.4 billion, this platform has been the most successful platform in the history of gaming. The last year many have been speculating that within the next year, the PS 2 was to be phased out. This may not be so accurate.

According to an article at Game Daily,  at the Casual Connect Convention in Kyiv, Ukraine, George Bain (Sony’s European Developer Relations Manager) stated that the PS 2 is "effectively an open platform" and continues with "You no longer have to submit a game for content approval." He goes on to explain that Russian and Indian developers are all ready creating titles and releasing them into their markets.

He also mentions that there is no cost to be a Sony licensed developer but the dev kits will cost you.
