Electronic Gaming Monthly Print Version May Get Axed

One of the more popular video game magazines, Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM) may no longer be on paper by the end of the year.

According to a report in the New York Times this week, Ziff Davis has already made the decision for one of their other publications, PC Magazine, to be totally digital. As of this time, EGM is the only magazine left under Ziff Davis’ umbrella that has not gotten the final signal to be on the web only.

The change will not require much of an adjustment, because the focus has been on getting articles to the Web first, said Lance Ulanoff, an editor of PC Mag. He continues “All content goes online first, and print has been cherry-picking for some time what it wants for the print edition.”

The final decision on whether the print version of EGM will get the axe will happen by the end of the year.
