D3Publisher (D3P), a publisher and developer of interactive entertainment software, today announced that its phenomenally successful action platformer Ben 10: Protector of Earth has sold 2.5 million units worldwide. Based on the top-rated Cartoon Network original series that has become a favorite among boys, the game allows players to take on the role of hero Ben Tennyson, who uses the DNA-scrambling Omnitrix to morph into different alien forms and protect the Earth from danger. Ben 10: Protector of Earth is currently available on store shelves nationwide for the suggested retail price of $19.95 for the Wii, PlayStation 2, Nintendo DS and the PSP.

“We are thrilled to see the strong consumer response to Ben 10: Protector of Earth and the continual climb in sales demonstrates the dedication of fans around the globe to this tremendous franchise,” said Yoji Takenaka, president and chief executive officer, North America and Europe, D3P. “We look forward to even greater success with the recently released sequel, BEN 10 ALIEN FORCE The Game.”

“Having our first-ever Ben 10 interactive game be as successful as it has is a huge accomplishment for us and this is another milestone of which we’re very proud,” said Christina Miller, vice president, Cartoon Network Enterprises, the network’s global licensing division. “We look forward to continued success as we build the brand’s interactive franchise with a great partner in D3.”

In Ben 10: Protector of Earth, the first game based on the Cartoon Network series, players take on the role of Ben Tennyson and, using the power of the alien Omnitrix device that has attached itself to Ben’s wrist, become the only everyday kid to take on super powers and change into alien forms as they save the world through the game’s diverse challenges, puzzles and skirmishes.

BEN 10 ALIEN FORCE The Game, the highly anticipated follow-up to Ben 10: Protector of Earth, was released on October 28, 2008. Just like in the Cartoon Network television series on which it is based, the sequel begins five years after Ben put away the DNA-scrambling Omnitrix. The planet Earth is in grave danger once again, so gamers must help Ben take the Omnitrix out of retirement and lead eight different playable characters—including cousin Gwen, enemy-turned-ally Kevin Levin and five of Ben’s brand new alien forms—Swampfire, Jet Ray, Humungousaur, Spidermonkey and Big Chill—to utilize their all-new super powers and defeat the intergalactic invaders! The Nintendo DS version will offer alternate playable alien forms including Goop, Echo Echo and ChromaStone, giving players additional unique powers to command and explore. BEN 10 ALIEN FORCE The Game is available at retail stores across North America for the Wii for the suggested retail price of $39.95, and for the PlayStation 2 system, Nintendo DS and PSP system for the suggested retail price of $29.95.
