Gamer's Week 2.0, will be a week of video game-themed shows on MTV, MTV2, mtvU, games.mtv.com, Xfire and GameTrailers.com. The special programming will air next week, in conjunction with the launches of the Nintendo Wii and Sony PlayStation 3 consoles.

While MTV has no plans of turning their networks into a high-budget G4TV, they will air more than 40 hours of video game goodness. MTV's Senior Vice President and Executive in Charge of Production, Sally Frattini, said the network's partnerships with Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo will include the airing of some of this content on their perspective gaming portals. "Our audience is obsessed with video games and it's at the top of the list of what they're looking for on all of our channels. We've done a lot of short format programming for this week, as well as half-hour shows, and we're incorporating games into regular shows like 'Sucker Free' and TRL.' Games are a permanent part of the pop culture in this world. Our goal is to try to create some programming, whether it's on air or online, and to combine it with artists or celebrities to make it feel like MTV."

In addition, MTV will bring The G-Hole from the Internet to the television network. Hope we get to see our friends at GameLife break onto the small screen.
