Here is a handy little link if you have, or plan to purchase a PlayStation 3. Its the PlayStation and PlayStation 2 Format Software Compatibility Status for PLAYSTATION 3 Hardware. Its essentially the functional equivalent of the Original Xbox Games Playable on Xbox 360 list.
This will come in handy, especially with the reports that not quite everything is compatible, as Sony had originally promised. Unlike the Xbox list, you search the database, and it lists specific problems. Well, with over 8000 games to look through, its probably a better idea than try to look through a list that long.
