So there may still be some people in the UK and elsewhere that are without the beloved Nintendo Wii. Well fear not people! has you covered.

The site is run by Hampshire based IT contractor, Darren Mckillop, and works by monitoring stock from a large number of different retailers and alerting its visitors when the Nintendo Wii becomes available.

“The Wii is Nintendo’s seventh-generation video game console, and its launch in December sparked a mad scramble which shows no sign of calming down any time soon,” says Darren Mckillop. “Demand is massively outstripping supply, and that means anyone wishing to lay their hands on one has to pounce immediately when the opportunity arises.”

He continues: “The Wii is the latest ‘must-have’, and scarcity of stock is making life a nightmare for video games fans, and especially for parents who are expected to conjure them out of thin air as birthday presents!

“No one can wave a magic wand, but our website is proving very popular, and has already helped thousands of people get hold of the Wii. Stock levels are currently worse than ever, but we will continue doing our utmost to point buyers in the right direction. There are various rival sites out there, but we believe we offer the most up-to-date real time information.”

The site has proved so successful that the company has already set up to provide a similar service for people looking to buy the Sony Playstation 3, which is due to be released on March 23.

The Wii website boasts many unusual features including an automated stock checking service which is updated every 60 seconds, and pop-up alerts announcing the availability of consoles. It highlights the best deals for consoles, games and bundled packages, and a stock history feature for each retailer helps people predict trends and release times.

The website is also packed with a whole host of handy tips and hints to help visitors beat the rush when stock becomes available.

“There are certain steps you can take to put yourself at the front of the queue,” says Mr Mckillop. “For a start, it pays to pre-register on retailers’ sites because with stock going so fast you might suddenly spot a few consoles available, only find that they’ve already gone by the time you reach the checkout!

“It’s also worth bearing in mind that stock is usually released in small batches, and this can start from about 8am when most people are either just getting out of bed or are on their way to work. The odds of securing an order first thing in the morning are much better than at any other time of day.”

That is one smart IT contractor.
