During the weekend, computer users complained about having problems while trying to connect to the online servers for the newly released Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of Grand Theft Auto V. To solve the issues, Rockstar Games published a workaround on their official website until the developer could deploy a title update which would generally fix the error.

However, the suggested actions that players were asked to take in order to access the GTA V online servers on next-gen platforms were too complicated. As the developer revealed that they would have an update ready to be released within the next 24 hours, most simply chose to wait until the patch was published.

Meanwhile, Rockstar Games released various instructions which could potentially allow players to avoid getting the error code which was preventing online access in Grand Theft Auto V. The suggested workarounds began with simple actions such as installing the latest system software or rebooting the console.

Nevertheless, the next steps computer users were asked to take to avoid the error got much more complicated. In fact, Rockstar Games even suggested users to re-install the original HDD on the PS4 if they had upgraded their disk drive. In this way fans will be required to install GTA V for the second time on their original drive.

The good news is that the workarounds which have been released, weren’t needed for long because Rockstar Games did not take the weekend off and resolved the problems successfully. On Saturday, the developer released GTA V Title Update 1.03 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The latest update for the new-generation editions of the open-world crime title addressed the issue of server stability, so the developer could get the fix available to download as soon as possible.

After the release of Grand Theft Auto V on Xbox One and PS4 on Tuesday, the game’s updated versions have already received two small title updates. These updates involved quick bug patches, however, none of them included online heist missions despite the fact that the developer had announced that the multiplayer robberies would be added in the first title update after GTA V was released on next-gen consoles.

There were two new updates since that time, but online heists are still noticeably absent from Grand Theft Auto V. Looks like Rockstar Games is waiting until the first content update before adding heist missions to GTA Online. Currently, the developer is probably more focused on removing bugs from the game before releasing any new gameplay features to GTA V.

Grand Theft Auto V is now available on Xbox One and Playstation 4. The first game was released last year on last-gen platforms and is now scheduled to launch on PC at the beginning of 2015.
