Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain’s multiplayer component Metal Gear Online is said to support support up to 16 players on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and up to 12 players on PS3 and Xbox 360.

According to Videogamer, the details have been announced via the Konami’s official Japanese website.

Metal Gear Online was originally presented at The Game Awards in December, 2014. The initial footage of the gameplay combines a tactical multiplayer experience with a significant smattering of MGS’s endearingly absurd flavour.

Metal Gear Online was created by Konami’s team, based in Los Angeles. The game will be released as part of the Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, which will be launched on consoles on September 1, and on PC – on September 15, this year.
